Introducing Indiana's new tournament circuit

The Hoosier Saga Circuit is brought to you by Indiana Smash and the Hoosier Saga Council. This circuit consists of competitive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments all across the state of Indiana. It will culminate in a 32-player invitational event, the “Hoosier Saga Finale”. Tournaments taking place in the Hoosier Saga Circuit may not all be directly organized by the Hoosier Saga Council. 

The participants for the Hoosier Saga Finale will be invited based on various criteria: 

8 players will qualify from the IEN High School SSBU Singles finals

8 players will qualify from the Hoosier Saga Circuit offline college qualifier

12 players will qualify from open events in the Hoosier Saga Circuit 

3 players will qualify from a voting process (explained in the Voting Process section)

1 player will qualify from the last chance qualifying event the day before the Hoosier Saga Finale

8 high school players will qualify for the Hoosier Saga Finale in the IEN SSBU Singles Finals at the IEN State Championships.

To compete in the IEN SSBU Singles Finals bracket, players must qualify through one of the following tournaments:

Online High School Qualifiers

In-person High School Qualifier events

Spartan Smash 2024

The winner from each online qualifier will qualify for the bracket. Once a player has qualified for the tournament through an online qualifier or other qualifier, they are not permitted to play in the future online qualifiers. Players already qualified are permitted to compete in offline high school qualifiers.

The dates of online qualifiers are (subject to change):

Dec 6th 2024, Jan 17th 2025, Jan 31st 2025, Feb 14th 2025, Feb 28th 2025, and Mar 14th 2025.

The total number of qualifiers from each of the tournaments are as follows: 

12 Qualifiers from Spartan Smash 2024

12 Qualifiers from other high-school-only events

8 Qualifiers from online Indiana Youth Clashbash events

To compete in the IEN SSBU Singles Finals, students must be full-time students in Indiana. The Top 8 players from the IEN SSBU Singles Finals will qualify for the Hoosier Saga Finale in May 2025.

8 college players will qualify for the Hoosier Saga Finale. In order to compete in the Hoosier Saga Circuit University finals, students must be full-time students in Indiana, meaning they either attend a university in Indiana or live in Indiana and attend an online university. Details on the 2 offline university qualifiers will be listed when the tournament pages are public. Both university qualifiers are planned for 2025.

October 19th 2024 - FortLAN 2024 [1 Qualifier]

November 2nd 2024 - Kill Roy Vol. 8 [1 Qualifier]

December 8th 2024 - Manchester Mashoff [1 Qualifier]

In 2025, there will be 8 more qualifying tournaments between January and April.

The voting process for the Hoosier Saga Finale will take place online. 10 players will be nominated by a vote held by the Hoosier Saga Council. More information will be provided later on this process. The remaining 10 players who are nominated will move into the first of three voting phases. Players will be eliminated during each voting phase, and some players will also move on and be confirmed competitors at the Hoosier Saga Finale. Players will earn 1 vote for every public offline Indiana Smash Ultimate tournament they enter between the start of the circuit and the start of the voting phase. Buying Hoosier Saga merchandise will also earn players votes depending on the item.

Phase 1 - 10 players enter. Bottom 2 are eliminated and the top 1 moves on to the Finale.

Phase 2 - 7 players remaining. Bottom 2 are eliminated and the top 1 moves on to the Finale.

Phase 3 - 4 players remaining. Bottom 3 are eliminated and the top 1 moves on to the Finale. 

The voting tally will be live updated online. Updates will be made in the Hoosier Saga Discord server.
